2 New CD Release-“Tangible”. November 1, 2022
NEW Release!!! (November 1, 2022)
Hi Friends! Thank you for your interest in my music and my playing. I hope you enjoy the songs as well as the musicianship on this CD. Since 2018, all of the recordings I had been doing went out to all the virtual streaming sites. They were never made into a CD or some form of hard copy media. The last few months I have had the feeling that I want these recordings to be on a CD. I want them to live on something tangible. So, I decided to put them out on a compilation CD. I also included some live versions of a few songs from my Dharma Live CD from 2002 that never made it to an official CD.
Once again, thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy my new CD, “Tangible”.

0 New Release! Drum Solo Improvs Vol. 1 (TV & Film)
Hi Friends!
The last 2 years or so, I have been working with my good friend and amazing Composer/ Producer Benny Reid. We have been recording drum solos and grooves for licensing. Sometimes Benny will ask me to record a specific groove at a specific tempo. Sometimes I will just record myself improvising for periods of time. Then we decide what works, and mix and edit. Then it all goes up to a server where content creators can license the drum parts for their films, TV spots, Podcasts, songs, corporate presentations and so on. We have had some really great wins with this formula. Recently I did two longer sessions where I got into a creative vibe and tracked with a movie sound track in mind. I am releasing these sessions as an EP!! I wanted to document these tracks to let people know I do this kind of work, as well as just have it as part of my discography.
I recorded and mixed this EP myself. I am very happy with the results. Thanks to Chris Kyriakou for the great cover art! Thanks to Benny Reid for all his teamwork on our now over 75 drum tracks! I hope you enjoy this EP.

- John reimagines the first song he ever recorded under his own name in 1996. KUKUC
- LAKE WORTH, FLORIDA—During the very crazy times of 2020, John teamed up with his friend and producer Benny Reid to re-arrange his classic song KUKUC. The goal was not to change the song but to make it more contemporary as well as more exciting. With KUKUC 2020 they did just that.
- After John and Benny finished the composing and arranging of the tune, it was time to get the right players to record it. John said, “I work with so many amazing musicians all the time but I knew right away what players would be perfect for KUKUC 2020. I already had a great sax player (my partner Benny Reid) so that was all set. And, man did he crush it! My longtime piano player Misha Tsiganov played on the demo template track and he’s a monster player, so I had the keyboard player all set. Next I had to choose a bass player. I knew right away that Mike Pope would be perfect, plus we have a 15 year history of playing together. I was blown a way when I heard his final track!! He did a fantastic job. Next up was choosing a guitar player. Just like with Mike Pope I immediately knew that my long time band mate and friend, Chieli Minucci, was the one. And, man did he deliver. Monster guitar tracks came my way in record time. ”
