On Saturday June 3rd , John Favicchia treated the standing room only crowd at JUST DRUMS in Toronto with an outstanding performance. John’s world class drumming kept the audience totally engaged as well as highly focused on his presentation combining audience participation, humor, stories, education, hand-outs, fun, prizes and performance. Favicchia performed compositions from past recordings, as well as 3 tunes that have yet to be recorded.
At one point, John was creating melodies between five cowbells while holding a beat. Three cowbells played with his feet while incorporating the other two with his hands in his groove.
Not only did John inspire the crowd with his world class drumming, but he took the time to share his drumming concepts. He demonstrated his “ELEMENTS” concept – a system designed help drummers improve their reading skills and create a strong connection between the head and the hands. John also took the time to review the Vic Firth sticks he was using. “I love the feel of my SD10 Swingers. They are a bit lighter then the SD 9 and make my cymbals sound great!!”
John continued the instruction afterward to inquiring fans in one-on-one sessions. It was obvious that John has a passion for sharing his knowledge and expertise. Once again it was a very successful clinic for the attendees and JUST DRUMS Toronto.
On Sunday June 3rd, John stopped by Jeff Salem’s new music school for a sold out master class. Everyone who attended had a great time, were inspired and left there learning a lot.”They were so pumped about drumming after John’s world class drumming and presentation.” Said Jeff Salem owner of Jeff Salems Music Studios.
John’s successful Toronto clinics were preceded by clinics in Commack, NY and East Brunswick, NJ. These clinics, held at Guitar Center locations in late May, were also a big a success.
